What is Ascending the Hill?

  • Ascending the Hill is a worship ministry that creates an environment allowing musicians and artists to express their hearts in worship to the Lord. The unique part about this ministry is how we do it.
  • We do this by first focusing our hearts and minds on the Lord. Second, we abandon all structure. We do not play anything we know as musicians. Everything is completely spontaneous and free. Every song that you hear on this site, every CD that has been released, consists entirely of songs captured in an environment in which the musicians play out spontaneously. The musicians have no idea what they are about to play. The singers have never uttered the words they end up singing.
  • We have found that as we worship in this way, God has revealed to us that music is a gift; it is a gift from Him. As we offer this gift of music back to Him in an intimate and often times vulnerable way, His presence cannot stay away!

What we believe...

  • We believe that God has called us to worship Him in this way. We believe God is using the hearts and instruments of musicians to bring freedom to the lost, to increase intimacy with His children, and to heal emotional and physical needs. This is why we believe it's very important to record and capture these nights of worship and make the music available to people all over the world.

  • The sole purpose is encouraging relationship! Relationship between God and His people. 

  • As you listen, we would encourage you to take the concerns you have in your heart before the Lord, whether its financial needs, emotional needs, or physical needs, take them to Him while you listen. Also take the good things, rejoice with Him over what He is doing and has done in your life while the music plays.
  • We believe you will begin to encounter God in a whole new way!

  • We have received several testimonies from people that have experienced incredible, even miraculous, things while listening to this worship. We encourage you to give us your feedback. We would love to hear your testimonies of what God is doing. There is a place to put your comments next to each song. The power of the testimony is going to spread this worship world wide!

And it will happen, when you have come there to the city, that you will meet a group of prophets coming down from the high place with a stringed instrument, a tambourine, a flute, and a harp before them; and they will be prophesying. Contribution

Ascending the Hill is a non-profit ministry under Garden Community Church in Bakersfield, California. As you might have noticed, we do not sell any of the music that is captured. We also do not sell any of the CD's we manufacture. We really believe God is using this music to speak to His children and we want to make it as easy as possible for people to get.

We are funded entirely by people who believe in this ministry and see the affect that it has on people. Lives are being changed!
